The transfer of professional football K-League 1 Suwon Samsung striker Oh Hyeon-gyu (22) to the prestigious Celtic in Scotland has been confirmed.

An official from Suwon said on the 25th, “I received a call from Celtic that all procedures were completed the day before.”

According to the club, Oh Hyun-gyu went through the necessary paperwork for transfer in London, England, during the Lunar New Year holiday, and moved to Glasgow, Scotland, to complete his medical test.

Celtic showed interest in Oh Hyun-kyu even before the opening of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar last year.

Oh Hyun-gyu, a member of the Suwon Youth Team, exploded his potential last season by emerging as the team’s fixer.

He scored 13 goals (3 assists), the most in the team, in 36 K-League 1 games in the 2022 season, and led Suwon to remain in the 1st division with a golden goal in the second round of the promotion playoff against FC Anyang.

Impressive in the league, he did not make the final World Cup roster in Qatar, but was selected as a reserve member and trained with the national team in Qatar.

Even though he did not play in the World Cup, Celtic’s interest in Oh Hyun-kyu did not cool down.

Celtic sent a love call to Oh Hyun-kyu four or five times, and the final transfer fee was known to be 3 million euros (approximately 4 billion won), three times more than the initial offer of 1 million euros (approximately 1.3 billion won). 먹튀검증

Initially, Suwon wanted Oh Hyun-gyu, a key player, to remain on the team for at least one more season.

Oh Hyeon-gyu also participated in Suwon’s winter battery training held in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do last month, and seemed to be putting more weight on his stay.

However, as Celtic’s courtship continued, Suwon changed its direction to agree to the transfer.

One month before the opening of the 2023 season, Suwon, which is sending off its main striker, plans to fill the vacancy of Oh Hyun-kyu by quickly recruiting an alternative resource.
