Saudi Arabia has been chosen as the host of the 2027 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.

At the 33rd AFC General Assembly held in Manama, Bahrain on the 1st (Korean time), Saudi Arabia won the hosting rights as a sole candidate without competing countries. Initially, India, Iran, and Uzbekistan were scheduled to compete to attract the bid, but abandoned the competition due to the aftermath of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

Initially, this year’s Asian Cup was scheduled to be held by China, but gave up the right to host it in the aftermath of the spread of Corona 19, and Qatar competed with Korea to attract it, and it was decided as the venue. The competition is scheduled to start in June.
